Ben Gurion Elementary School Week 4

I only worked two days this week because all of the upper grades in the school had a field trip. So I just relaxed on Sunday. When I came into school the next day, all the kids were saying hi to me again. I really like the feeling that Im making a difference for these kids. Even if I am not tutoring every sudent in English, just the fact that they have me around, helps them through their day. I still cant understand why the kids are so disrespectful towards their teachers. There are many reasons for this, but I think the main reason is that they do not care if they get into trouble.
The next day we got an extra volunteer, which I am very happy about because now we can help more kids. This is extremely necessary because we are only helping a very small percentage of the students. One thing that bothered me was when a teacher sent me two kids to work with, who are not that challenged in English, while there were kids left in class who actually needed help. The teacher gave up on these students so she left them in the back of the class and didnt care about anything they did, while I was teaching kids who didnt really need help. This bothered me a lot and I thought about discussing this with the teacher, but I decided not to because I am in no place to criticize a teacher. Overall the week went really well.
