Popeye…janitor?

This week, the weather was not conducive to sailing, so only one group went out on the water.  During this group, I sailed alongside the kids and helped instruct them on how to sail.  I also set up a buoy so that the kids could sail a "course" instead of just zig-zagging at random.  After this groups of kids, the sea started to get angry, so the other group didn't show.  During the time that the second group was supposed to be there, Harold, Sophie, and myself helped tie up a mast so that we could use it as a flagpole (it looks really col now, but I think it should have a Jolly Roger instead of an Israeli flag).
On Monday, the sea was still rough, so the kids went to watch a movie (Finding Nemo) and learned how to tie some knots.  Instead of watching the movie or practicing my knot making, Sophie and I did a lot of cleaning in our warehouse/shed.  Let's just say that if I fail at becoming a sailor, then this placement will definitely help me score a job as a janitor or maid.  On Wednesday and Thursday I painted the ceiling of the girls showers/changing rooms.  I only got one drop of paint in my hair, so I consider it a big success.
I'm a little disappointed that I'm not interacting with the kids nearly as much as I could/should be, but they are overstaffed and there is only so much that I can do. I'm really excited for next week because I believe that all of the painting is finished and that the spring cleaning is nearly over.  This should mean that I can finally learn more about the boats and practice my oceanic skills.
